Cathy sat with a cup of coffee in her hand. Troubled. Her husband Rod finally had relief from the psoriasis that haunted him most of his adult life. That was the good news.
The bad news? She was terrified of the side effects of the drugs he was getting intravenously. “Sometimes the cure is worse than the illness” she had told him. But she didn’t have psoriasis. She couldn’t understand how it felt physically or mentally. He was happy. Who could argue with that?
There had to be a better way. But she sure didn’t know what it was.
We’ve heard these stories thousands of times over the last thirty years. It’s heartbreaking especially when we know we are the better way.
